1 Week Down!

It's hard to believe that Greta's been with us for an entire week already. Alright, so maybe it's not THAT hard to believe. She's now 7 weeks old. We're still trying to adjust to nighttime potty trips (every 2-3 hours! Oy!) but otherwise, all is well!

She and I have been working a lot on bite inhibition (ie: Don't bite me, bite the toys) and basic commands. She's doing AWESOME with both of them!! She rarely mouths/bites me or the kids anymore and if she does, it's very gently so that you can barely feel her teeth. Of course, if she's tired or overstimulated, it's an entirely different story... and playtime ends.

She sits well, shakes her paw (that was a random thing she did on her own and I just encourage it), she usually comes when called, and she's progressing really well with the "stay", "leave it", and "heel" commands.

She LOVES the kids and Goliath (though Goliath is merely tolerant)... she's not sure what to make of DH and she's a total momma's girl. We love having her! She's a peach!

On a side note, I'm beginning to think that dog training is my calling. What fun this is!

Yeah, I suck...

Except for the occasional random rambling, I haven't been a very dutiful blogger. So... let's update...

The kids are great, getting old.

I've been working on a lot of Kindergarten crap... trying to get Minky switched to a different school district. Paperwork galore!

I've been sick for weeks. Some sort of chest congestion nightmare! I should see a doctor, as whooping cough has been going around our county... I hate going to the doctor

aaaaaaand.... I got something special for Valentine's day from DH...

Greta! Or as I call her, "Greta-Spaghetta" I dunno... I feel weird if I don't give animals/people odd nicknames.

She's a beauty. She's still quite shy around the kids but who can blame her? Otherwise, she's sweet as can be. She perks up with every passing day and is a real ham. If you like puppies... watch here because I'll be bragging her up!
